Question by SeaShells: How Do I Get Rid of a Tension Headache?
I need a new pillow– it happens just about every morning when I wake up. From right between my shoulder blades to midway up the back of my neck/head feels so tight. My husband tries to massage out the knots, but then they come back. I’ve tried Bayer Tension Headache Relief as well as ibuprophen, but the headache just comes back. And it seems to be related to my sinuses too. I’m having horrible allergies right now from all this stupid pollen. Other than buying a new pillow, any suggestions?

Best answer:

Answer by papermichael64
It could be a sinus infection, otherwise just try and calm down, don’t be such a tense person

Question by : blood pressure low, headaches, ect….?
lately, i have not felt energetic at all, i feel tired, sometimes dizzy, i get headaches. my blood pressure is strange. my high number ranges from 90-120 which i think is good, but my low one stays under 60
54-59.

ive been eating less salt lately, but i figured i was ok, because i eat cereal, and popcorn (100 cal bags) that have salt. ive lost 70 lbs, i eat fruits and veggies, chicken and fish. i eat very healthy. but i feel so tired all the time. anyone know what could be wrong?
its not low blood sugar my mom did many tests while i was feeling bad. she is diabetic, so i was worried i had it too. but its normal.

i eat this cereal everyday

http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-post-honey-bunches-oats-cinnamon-i119828

it has 45% iron.
also, about the water some days i can drink 3-4 water bottles sometimes only 2. but water is usually the only thing i drink.
i do get allergies, and i do feel especially sick before my period. especially, since i have a very uneven period.

Best answer:

Answer by Ane
Three questions:

1) How is your iron intake? Look at the cereal.

2) How is your sugar intake? Does anyone in your family have a history of low or high blood sugar problems?

3) About how many glasses of water are you getting in a day?

I would go to the doctor as soon as you can. Blood pressure and being lethargic are a sign of a problem.

_________

Alright. You sound good. You could just be getting sick. I feel like that before a head cold. I’ve noticed my blood pressure changes when I’m near, on or just off of my period. Are sesonal allergies a problem in your family?

What do you think? Answer below!

Article by azvicdev

What Is High Blood Pressure?

The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines high blood pressure or hypertension as a reading where the systolic is equal to or greater than 140 and the diastolic is equal to or more than 90. What are they? The systolic is a pulse reading taken when the heart contracts and the diastolic when the heart fills up.Generally, a reading of 120/80 is considered normal. Then again that depends on gender and personal profile among other factors.

Treatment

Yes, 90% of people with high blood pressure or hypertension can cure themselves naturally. However, they do not know they can. Perhaps the other 10% have some severe and chronic conditions which can only be cured conventionally through specialized professional treatment. But the sad fact is that most people who have high blood pressure are not even aware that they have it. Why? It is mainly because almost always there are no symptoms. No signs. So you would not know that you have it. There may be medical conditions caused by the high blood pressure but usually not the symptoms. Most of those who know they have high blood pressure, are being treated with expensive synthetic drugs that have to be taken over a lifetime. In addition to that, they would have to bear with the known to unknown mild to harsh side effects of the drugs prescribed. The milder known side effects include dizziness, headaches, allergies and dry coughs. These side effects may show in the short or long term. For those occurring over the long term, the effects could escape a link to the high blood pressure drugs. Over time, sufferers could also be on other medication and the effects may be attributed to these or some other conditions. The question then, is why do the majority of sufferers resort to taking synthetic drugs when they can be cured through natural high blood pressure remedies, without any side effects and rather inexpensively?

Why Synthetic Drugs For Treatment?

Its the system and its highly institutionalised. You have high blood pressure. How do you know? It comes up during a medical check during a routine visit to a doctor or you being in a hospital for some medical condition. What do you get in a clinic or hospital?Lots and lots of drugs. So you get what is readily available. Are you informed of the alternatives? Most likely not as many doctors do not even know about the alternatives. That is not in their training. Further they would not want to suggest alternative remedies for fear of being viewed as unprofessional and as quacks. Added to this is the medical leave certificate. It is only valid if issued by a medical doctor. The system does not consider those issued by equally trained professionals in alternative medicine as valid. Then there is the issue of insurance. Nowadays medical treatment and insurance go hand in hand. Do you have insurance? Lets talk. Lets take a very good look at you. No insurance, please wait or you have come to the wrong place. Above all, there are the giant pharmaceuticals with very very fat purses. They are big time. They are huge in marketing and promotions. They have their people literally waiting outside doctors doors but not as patients! They are influential. They have the juice to sponsor all manner of campaigns. And they can do so many other things that matter such as research, clinical trials and what have you.Not so with those who offer better and safer natural alternatives. How many of us have heard of them? They are comparatively small time. They are largely dependant on word of mouth promotions. Though effective, their efforts are overwhelmed by the massive marketing and advertising campaigns of the big boys in pharmaceuticals. But things are changing. There is a noticeable shift. More and more people are turning to alternative medicine when given the option. A recent study shows that this shift is significant among the more educated as they are better informed.

Managing High Blood Pressure

The number of high blood pressure cases is on the rise. Contrary to the perception that such cases usually involve the middle aged or elderly, there are increasing numbers of young people even including children having high blood pressure. Conservative estimates from the World Health Organisation (WHO) reveal that 7.1 million deaths occur annually due to raised high blood pressure. They figure that, worldwide, there are more than 600 million people with high blood pressure. Why? What are the causes? One factor cited is the increased consumption of more energy dense foods. These are foods high in sugar, saturated fats and excessive salt. Studies show that it is also due to lack of physical activity, hereditary factors, body mass index (BMI) being beyond the 18.5 to 24.9 range causing overweight and obesity, smoking and alcohol. What is better and more healthy? It is in eating more fruits and vegetables including nuts and whole grains. At least two servings of fruit and five of vegetables each day. Daily physical activity. At least twenty minutes three times a week. No time? Start with five.Quit smoking. For those of us who simply must drink, moderation would be a keyword. Perhaps a glass or two of red wine? What other suggestions might there be? Medical advise is that we avoid salt, dairy products, refined sugar, fried foods and caffeine. It has also been recommended that the amount of water we drink daily should be equivalent to 50% of our body weight. If we are 100lbs, it would mean that we need to drink 50oz of water daily.

The Natural And Safer Alternative

As we consider alternative remedies for our ailments, we need to appreciate that conventional medicine definitely has a major role to play in the treatment of medical conditions. As in conventional medicine, there are many types of alternative treatment and natural remedies available. These range from accupuncture to yoga and zen healing. What we need to consider is what works best for us in a given set of circumstances. In terms of high blood pressure, it is wonderful to know that it can be treated naturally and without the side effects of drugs. In fact, studies show that in addition to lowering high blood pressure, natural alternatives bring about other benefits. These include weight reduction, better sleep and relief from joint pains. There are a number of offerings based on alternative and natural high blood pressure remedies that have been tested and proven. One of these, learn more here, is reported to be most effective for those in their 40′s and 50′s.In considering alternative treatment, most people are skeptical in terms of its effectiveness. This could be due to the lack of promotions or rather limited marketing by those in alternative medicine. It is therefore, good to note that people doing their best to offer alternative medicine to the community, are prepared to give 100% money back refunds if their offerings do not produce the desired results. Promoting alternative medicine and remedies is indeed challenging and goes against the tide. However its benefits to people, in terms of treating the condition and not the symptoms without harmful side effects, is worth the effort.

Her story: Theresa A. joins the countless others who have discovered that their headache and migraine symptoms, as well as related symptoms, could be eliminated through treatment of her neck. She remembers having headaches as early as age 10, which became more frequent and severe in her 20s. Sinus surgery and treatment of her allergies failed to provide consistent headache relief. She had a history of experiencing light and sound sensitivity, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. Her headaches were occasionally preceded by an aura, including a bad taste in her mouth and a sensation in her head and sinuses described as a sensation similar to being under water. She finally found relief at the Headache Institute of Texas, in San Antonio.

Hi…im in my second trimester and lately i have started getting frequent headaches and i have been feeling alot of pressure in my eyes..just wondering has any others experienced these symptoms during pregnancy and if so what did you do to relieve the discomfort if you were able to?? please help!!! thanks a bunch.

Best answer:

Answer by Carandy1
I would bring this up with your OB. Is your blood pressure okay?

Or this could be something totally unrelated to your pregnancy. Allergies can cause all kinds of pain. My son really has a hard time this time of year with the elevated pollen count. He experiences a lot of eye pain and irritation. Even if you have never experienced allergies before, a pregnancy can change the way your body responds.

Or you may have a sinus infection. When I have a sinus infection, I experience increased headaches and eye pressure too.

I know there are a lot of over the counter medications that are safe to take during pregnancy. Unless you know what you are dealing with it is hard to know what to buy. For that reason I think it would be a good idea to seek medical attention.

Good Luck Sweetie, I hope you feel better soon.

Question by crapticula: What could be causing these headaches?
The symptoms have been increasing slowly over the past several months. It sort of crept up on me, until I finally noticed that I’ve been taking Excedrin about 3-4 times a day.

I go to bed with a headache. Wake up with one. The Excedrin provides some relief until 4 to 6 hours later when I have to take some more.

I feel pain on both sides of my head and also in the area around and behind my eyes, but I have no sinus symptoms and don’t have allergies.

I thought it might be eye strain causing it, because I do work on a computer, but I had my annual eye exam several weeks ago and there were no changes in my prescription.

When I’ve looked around the internet on different headache websites it seems that my headache might be in the class of tension headaches, but that seems to be accompanied by high blood pressure, which I don’t have.

Does anyone else have what I do? What brought you relief? I have a doctor appointment, but it’s not for two more weeks.

Thanks!

Question by Andy B: I have had sinus pressure, headache, and a slight fever for over a month. What is going on?
I went to the doctor and was prescribed an antibiotic for a sinus infection. This helped very little. They gave me another antibiotic which still offered little help. I have no known allergies, as well.

For a month now I have had sinus pressure, headache, and a slight fever that comes and goes. I’m not coughing, sneezing and my mucous is and has been clear. What exactly is going on here?

Best answer:

Answer by The Nebulous Thrug
It seems that your passages are still a little blocked

Suck some cough sweets! Any that have a decongestant in them. In the UK, I can recommend both Jakemans, and Halls Mentholyptus.

Good luck!
