Question by tonyaskitchen: what should be done for a male, found in dessert dehydrated, delirious, low blood pressure, heat stroke?
i need to answer several questions related to this scenario. what caused the man’s weakness, nausea, disorientation, headache, and low blood pressure? why isn’t he sweating? why didn’t the paramedic give distilled water instead of an electrolyte/glucose solution? why did the man become disoriented?

Best answer:

Answer by monkeyshine39
For one, the man’s body heat rising causes most of the symptoms. Dehydration causes the lack of sweat which in turn causes the body to overheat and slip into heatstroke.
As far as the paramedic go I am sure he has his reasons he is obviously trained. The elctrolyte is essentially water sugar and salt. Salt will help hold in water. The man became disoriented because essential his brain was frying in his head.

Migraines are severe, throbbing headaches that may or may not be accompanied by nausea, possibly with visual disturbances and other symptoms. Migraine incidences have increased by 50 percent within the last twenty years, with an estimated 25 to 30 million people suffering from them in the United States. Three out of four of these 25 to 30 million are women, with up to 24 percent of women experiencing at least one migraine in their lives and only 12 percent of men getting migraines. Migraines are one of the most severe types of headache.

Research has described migraines as vascular headaches, as they involved excessive dilation or contraction of the brain

Article by RateND

Many of us may have experience an excruciating headache that literally turn us into a giant grouch. Although there’s no cure for migraine, the pain can be avoided and managed using Acupuncture. Studies show that most migraine sufferers are women, and in Canada and United States, the recurring throbbing headache happens to 1 in 10 people between the ages of 10 and 40.

What exactly is migraine?

Ever experience a severe, pulsating pain on one side of the head? Well, that’s migraine. Other symptoms like cold hands and feet, nausea (or even vomiting), and sensitivity towards bright light and sound are usually accompany the severe, recurring vascular headache. This explains why people who suffer migraine are often advised to switch off their computers and stay in a dark, quiet room. When migraine occurs, the pain could last between few hours up to 72 hours, very few chronic sufferers were even admitted to the Emergency Room due to prolonged vomiting.

Cause of migraine is arguable, but many suggest that some things we consume (like alcoholic drink, tobacco, fermented food, etc) could trigger migraine. Other common causes like change in sleeping patterns due to stress, barometric pressure change, hunger, and past psychological traumas are also cited as possible migraine causes.

Despite being common, migraine has no cure. Prescribed or over-the-counter painkillers are often containing substances that cause blood vessels to thin; it’s their ultimate and sometimes only goal.

Acupuncture is so much better than pain relief medicines

Painkillers could be carcinogenic (transform normal cells into cancer cells) and dependency to analgesic medicines can trigger liver and kidney damage, also contributing to a long term and often lingering migraines.

Acupuncture, an ancient Chinese healing method by inserting sterile needles into different part of the skin, could bring brings immediate and sustainable effects that many antibiotics and painkillers could not. Why’s that? Basically Acupuncture aims to promote and improve your natural immune system by managing the good flow of your Qi (sometimes written as Chi, roughly means “life force”). In short, acupuncture works better than drugs alone.

Finding the right experts in Canada

As health care costs increasing, Canadians embrace more and more the art and science of natural healing and disease prevention. Earlier this month, Canada celebrates Naturopathic Medicine Week. Natural healing such as Acupuncture, Eastern and Western herbal medicine, and other treatments gain popularity as health solutions to the mainstream ones.

According to Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI), Naturopathic Doctors graduated in the British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario are licensed to use acupuncture method in the their practices according to the license they obtained from the provincial regulatory boards such in British of Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.

If you’re considering a healthier and a more natural alternative to painkillers and would like to give Acupuncture a go? You can look up licensed Naturopathic Physicians practicing Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) closest to you on RateND‘s website.

Question by rose v: Can I possibly have something my doctors are not finding?
I have been to 2 doctors. Each confirm that I have Hypertension and I take meds for that. They did an MRI and found 2 bulging discs in my neck. They say they aren’t that bad yet but the pain I feel by days end is very real. I have attended therapy for them and I continue to use the methods they taught me to help with the pain. I am also going thru menopause and sometimes get so depressed i just sit and cry. Then there are the headaches. So severe when they strike that I have to stay in bed. For that that they given me topamax. I also have sleep apnea and use a CPAP. They have also prescribed xanax for sleep and a mild muscle relaxer. I feel like I rattle when I walk taking so many pills. I was stung by a wasp most recently and by nightfall, I was swelled so, I looked like the marshmallow man. I called the doctor on Monday morning, was told the only thing I could do was take benadryl, which I had been already. By Wednesday my head was hurting so bad that my husband had to drive me to the doctor without an appointment. I was crying from the pain, the nausea, and just the feeling that I would pass out just from standing. They gave me 3 shots and sent me home. I missed a weeks work and was fussed at from the doctor for not being there on Monday. he didn’t want to give me an excuse for the first 2 days. I know I have a high stress job and I know that I work long hours at it. Somedays I feel like i am going to lose my mind. I hurt, I am depressed, I don’t want to live sometimes. Then when I tell these things to the doctors, I am looked at like a druggie looking for a fix. I never asked for any of the meds they have given me, only begged them to help me figure out what is causing the pain. Can the discs be pressing against nerves to cause the headaches? The pain and numbness down my arm? I am always so tired. I mean bone tired like I have been wrestling an alligator all day. I am as tired when I wake up as I was when i went to bed. I have good private insurance. So, that isn’t a problem. Why can’t they help me? If not for my family, I would have laid the gun to my head long ago. I am so tired of being sick and hurting. I am at my wits end. Now, they want to wean me off the pain meds that they prescribe to start with. I am not sure what I will do then since that is the only relief i get and even then, somedays I hurt so bad they don’t help. I know this all must sound crazy but if I don’t get some answers soon, i don’t what i am going to do. It’s affecting my life, my marriage, my general well being both physically and mentally. If I am crazy, they should lock me away. I know the pain is real, and I know how I feel all the time. They just give me more meds and shots and send me on my way. The only test so far they have run is the MRI and that was only because they suspected I had a mini stroke. That’s how they found the discs bulging. Even with meds, my blood pressure is high at times. I check it often and can tell when my vision blurrs. My eyes water all the time. No matter what. They say that is just allergies and prescribed singular for that. I have a total of 10 regular meds. I am only 46. Is there anything known to man that can cause a person to feel this way? I really am tired of it all and grow more tired of fighting it everyday.

Best answer:

Answer by hasse_john
Yes. High blood pressure is a symptom,,, not a disease. The ‘drugs’ that control the symptom are toxic, and not life supporting. discover the cause, and address it. (for a start)

Article by John Scott

If you are one of the millions of Americans that suffer from migraine headaches, then you know all too well how debilitating they can be on your quality of life. Migraine headaches are a very common problem, but because they affect every person differently, they can be very difficult to treat. Furthermore, not all migraine treatments on the market work the same for every patient, and they are expensive to boot. With the health care crisis in America what it is today, who has hundreds of dollars every month to try new medication that has no guarantee? Not many people do, which is why many Americans are looking for new ways of living with migraines and treating them effectively. A migraine headache is classified as a migraine when it occurs on one side of your head and is accompanied by other symptoms such as light or sound sensitivity, nausea, and sometimes even vomiting. It is often described as a throbbing sensation and can debilitate someone enough that they are unable to work, drive, or even function. Most of the time when a migraine attack comes on, the individual is forced to retreat to a quiet and dark room until the migraine attack is over. For some people, this can last days. Migraines are a severe interference with life, and one of the most commonly cited reasons for missed work. For those that suffer from migraines regularly, a series of triggers is often identified that sets off these migraine attacks. The unfortunate thing is that what is a trigger for one person may not be for another, so keeping track of what you are doing and eating around the time of a migraine attack will help you towards managing them better. These triggers can be food triggers such as chocolate, food items with red food coloring, red wine, and many other triggers. Some people even find weather changes to be a trigger for migraines, and will suffer attacks when the barometric pressure changes from one extreme to another quickly. In a lot of cases, people know what their triggers are, but there is nothing they can do to avoid them, such as thunderstorms or humidity hikes.

When it comes to cases like that, knowing what will be your best comfort zones, alongside having adequate migraine treatment, will go a long way towards helping you manage your migraines. Knowing your triggers will be enough to help you avoid the ones you can avoid, and prepare for the ones you can’t. Sometimes having enough medication on hand when you know a storm is coming is all the preparation you can do to manage your migraines when unforeseen triggers crop up.

Living with your migraines also requires a healthy working relationship with your doctor. Those that suffer from migraines regularly have likely tried many prescriptions from their doctors already to combat migraine attacks. As you may already know, this can get costly, and in some cases, the medication may even make you sicker than the migraines. And the last thing you want is to resort to narcotic medications that will add addiction to your list of complaints. Today, many doctors are veering from traditional migraine medications and offering prescriptions for medication like Tramadol. This medication, also known as Ultram, works as an anti-inflammatory and targets the areas on your central nervous system that are experiencing pain, thus working very effectively for migraine headaches. When you are looking for new ways to live with migraines without costing a fortune or giving you more side effects, you may want to order Tramadol online for your most cost effective least addictive form of migraine relief.

Her story: Theresa A. joins the countless others who have discovered that their headache and migraine symptoms, as well as related symptoms, could be eliminated through treatment of her neck. She remembers having headaches as early as age 10, which became more frequent and severe in her 20s. Sinus surgery and treatment of her allergies failed to provide consistent headache relief. She had a history of experiencing light and sound sensitivity, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. Her headaches were occasionally preceded by an aura, including a bad taste in her mouth and a sensation in her head and sinuses described as a sensation similar to being under water. She finally found relief at the Headache Institute of Texas, in San Antonio.

Question by tracy: Could these strange symptoms be heart related?
I am going to the doctor today. Strange symptoms started about a month ago and just wondering if they could be heart related

- ongoing headache with no relief from Advil or Tylenol
- indigestion and nausea that comes and goes for no reason
- pain in back just below shoulder blades (this pain has since spread to the front sometime in the middle of the night or early this morning)
- dizziness, ringing in ears that comes and goes
- fatigue, but waking throughout the night
- awaking at strange hours in the night and unable to go back to sleep
- loss of appetite
- strange sensation behind the ears, feeling like I have eaten something sour
- urge to cry for absolutely no reason, mood swings
- strange weakness in left arm, comes and goes (not numb, not painful)
- pain and redness on soles of feet

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced these kind of symptoms. I am going to the doctor today, but don’t really know what to expect and must admit I am afraid. Could these strange symptoms be heart related? High blood pressure? I am 50 and already have a few physical problems. Could all this just be thyroid problems instead of heart?

Thank you.

Answer by Glenda M
I am familiar with only nausea regarding a heart attack. None of those symptoms seem heart related at all.

Question by Daniel: Blurry vision, headache, nausea, red eye, sinus pressure?
Hi all, first off, I am planning to go to the doctor just wondering if anyone can shed some light on it until then.
I’m an 18 year old male and I’m experiencing a few problems, sometimes when I wake up I have a mild headache, it doesn’t hurt massively and doesn’t prevent me functioning, they come and go throughout the day sometimes with 6 hours apart, I’m also experiencing nausea, but never actually being sick, red eyes, dizziness, blurry vision, and very occasionally feeling like my nose is about to bleed, but it hasn’t. I have also had occasional extreme pain in my neck and a throbbing towards the back of my head, which can last 30 mins, but this usually involves me straining my neck and is fixed with paracetamol.
Sometimes the symptoms respond to medication such as paracetamol, but not all the time.
I’m wondering if this could be due to Stress, Diet, Dehydration, Caffeine consumption (have recently started drinking quite alot).
Thank you to anyone who replies as I’ve been worried it might be something serious

Best answer:

Answer by Rajinder
The following works for sinus, cold, running nose, sore throat and strep throat, when the throat is hurting and lot of other conditions.

The most visible thing about sinus is swelling. In case of cold, sore throat, strep throat also swelling is there but to some less extent then it is visible in sinus.

Sinus, cold and sore throat usually happen in the following situations -

- Change of season, drinking lot of water after exercises, when u get up in the morning, after swimming, after having first sex, kissing, first time smoking etc.

The reason – The body has limited capacity to store water in places other hen cells and in blood systems. When we suddenly drink lot of water, that must be stored in the cells within a short period. If that does not happen the body tries to lose water through frequent urination, running nose, cough etc. This excess water is stored in layers of skin or muscles. This stored water outside cells reduces the cell metabolism drastically. That also causes the immune system to be done causing the bacteria growth. That does not need antibiotics. All it needs is reabsorption of that water in cells or blood system. That is possible only by reducing the water intake temporarily.

During winters the cells of our body stores less water. This is evident from frequent loss of water from body throuhurination. Normally.

Another thing that needs explanation is – why does sore throat happens in the morning often. The cellular metabolism is at 5 to 10% during sleep. So the excess water stored between layers of skin and muscles causes the metabolism to fall below the minimum threshold limit. That reduces the immune capacity of the body drastically.

The same thing happens after swimming the body is heated up and cooled at the same time. It a person allows sweating after a swimming session and does not drink water or does not take a shower in cold water sore throat may not happen.

After having first sex, kissing, first time smoking people tend to either overeat, drink lot of water and sleep immediately so sinus or sore throat happens.

The easier way out is to allow body to sweat for 1 or 2 hour by increasing the body temperature but not drinking water or other fluids for may be 1 hour after that. But since cell metabolism is low during this period of cold and sinus, a person will seem to be excessively thirsty even after a short session of small exercise. Thru cell metabolism the water is transferred to blood system. If that happens at a rate slower then required rate the cells may overheat causing excessive thirst.

The other easy way to control swelling is to give up water and all other liquids for 24 hours. In 24 hours there will be no significant dehydration to cause organ failure. But to be double sure one can stay indoors for 24 hours. This helps in lot of other ailments. One can do it when one is indoors. It improves the immune system. It ensures that body’s control systems work properly.

In 24 hours the reduction in the fluids will be about 3 litres or about 5% of the total body weight of a normal adult.

Never the swelling due to sinus or cold and cough is more than 5% of the body volume.

During this period of 24 hours the lose of water from the body does not reduce even by 1% to offset reduced water intake.

The reduction in loss of body water thru urine or sweating starts after 48 hours in most of people. But to be on safe side giving up water and liquids for 24 hours will do the trick.

The reduced swelling will give immediate relief from pain. It will make is much more easier to eliminate the cough thru nose without any pain.

That will also improve the blood acid levels by about 10%. This makes changes at the cell level as well. Blood acid levels are the first line of defense against the infections.

So swelling gone, pain gone, cough moving out, infections taken care of. Now what remains in the body for the next change of season time. Obviously nothing.

So it has already given u long term relief from sinus. But in some cases one may get sinus during next change of season and may have to do this again. The benefits of drinking lot of water is over hyped. So when winter starts to set in, people still force drink more water. Same thing happens when summer is setting in. As soon as summer comfort is there on increases the water intake drastically. But the cells of the body still does not need that excess supply of water.

Question by : why are people so quick to reach for pharmaceutical medication instead of marijuana?
its so damn annoying! i hate that the stigma that goes with weed prevents some people from using it medically. i mean most of the time you dont have to smoke alot to get its medicinal effects and get “high.” both my parents bitch about ailments that keep coming back to them, such as headaches, stress, high blood pressure, and anxiety. and i always hear them saying stuff like “ah need to buy more aspirin..i need aspirin.” also, if you choose the indica strain of marijuana to smoke, you’ll get less of the mental effects if you dont wanna get high. i’ve used marijuana to treat my depression, headache, nausea, stress, and for pain relief. and marijuana isnt as dangerous to the brain (its a myth that it causes brain cell death) as some people think-actually it is the only plant that once smoked or ingested by humans, it mimics the endocannabinoid chemicals that our brain naturally produces.
nizo, marijuana doesnt kill brain cells. people think that being high is a product of lost brain cells but that isnt true. the myth that weed kills brain cells originates from ONE experiment where some monkeys had to wear gas masks while they were constantly exposed to marijuana smoke. later, many scientists ridiculed that same experiment because it turned out that the monkeys didnt lose brain cells because of the weed smoke itself, but because they were deprived of oxygen. no oxygen means dead brain cells. no other experiment has EVER shown that marijuana kills brain cells.
Marlene, i never said that anyone should take up smoking or use marijuana as the “easy route” and abandon the idea of living a healthy lifestyle. but if you’re going to take a medication anyways why not just smoke a little weed since its more biologically fit for our brains? also, even though the weed we have today is more potent than the 70′s, it doesnt mean it has more “harmful chemicals.” it just means it has more THC which is actually a good thing because then you can smoke less weed but still get a good amount of THC for medicinal effects which means you’d be ingesting less smoke and have less of a negative impact on the lungs. did you know that: people who smoke weed are less depressed than people who dont smoke? and they are also less prone to developing cancer? weed smokers also generally live longer. but i bet u didnt know that.

Best answer:

Answer by nizo
i agree with you, except its not a myth that it kills brain cells

If you think a taste of chocolate, a glass of wine, and sleeping late on weekends are harmless vices, think again. Those innocent indulgences are just a few of the most common triggers of headaches.

But don’t give up hope just yet. It’s possible you may be able to enjoy your favorite things and headache-free days. There’s more to the problem headache story than just a list of culprits. Coming up is must-know information that will help you get a grip on headaches once and for all. It starts with taking the time to look at your own particular condition, type of headache, and family history. Then use that knowledge to decide what you can personally do to make yourself more comfortable.

Not all headaches are alike. Different types need different attention, so start by determining what kind of headache you have. Could it be a…

Tension-type headache? If you have a feeling like a band being squeezed around your head, or if you simply feel muscle tension on both sides of the neck or back, it’s possible that you have this common, occasional type of headache. Some unfortunate people, however, have them every day.Cluster headache? If you’re a male, then this is probably your type of headache because cluster headaches affect men more than women. With intense pain that often appears on one side of the head without warning, cluster headaches last between 30 and 45 minutes. Sometimes these headaches are accompanied by teary eyes and sinus congestion. “Cluster” comes from the unfortunate fact that these headaches sometimes resolve only to occur again later in the same day.Hormone headache? It’s no surprise that these belong to the female population, usually triggered by the menstrual cycle. Many of their symptoms, such as sharp, throbbing pain on one side of the head, nausea, and sensitivity to sound and light are similar to migraines.Migraine headache? Ever notice a visual disturbance before a headache? You could be experiencing an aura, which signals that a migraine is on the way. Usually throbbing and piercing, migraines are generally one-sided but can affect both sides. Sensitivity to light and loud noises, and even odors, as well as nausea, are often reported. Women tend to be the most frequent sufferers.Any of those sound familiar? If you know your headache type, that sometimes can help determine what treatment course will be most effective.

But before we discuss treatment, let’s take a step back. Rather than treating a headache, imagine stopping it from happening in the first place. Too good to be true? Not at all. Many of these common headache triggers are things you can address directly.

Working with your head still for long periods of timeKeeping your head down, as when looking at a computer screen that’s too lowChanges in sleep, either too much or too little, especially on weekendsClenching or grinding teeth, especially at nightIntense, flashing, or bright light, such as from the sun and computer screensSudden or prolonged loud noiseSkipping meals, dieting, or fastingPhysical exertion and overdoing exerciseMotion sicknessHormone fluctuation, especially estrogen in a woman’s cycle.Food sensitivities to, for example, aspartame, caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, MSG, cheese, and aged or processed meatsMedications, both prescription and over-the-counterSmells–whether unpleasant or not–including perfume, flowers, pollution, and secondhand smokeThe weather, especially the period right before a rain storm or during changes in barometric pressureAllergies, which make a person sensitive to pollens and toxins and often result in painful sinus congestionStress and/or anxiety–but you don’t have any of that, right? Now consider yourself armed with knowledge. You can identify many of the types of headaches and factors responsible for bringing them on. And I hope you also know that you’re not alone in this battle. (Just the popularity of this topic proves that.) But better still, your arsenal will soon include options for helping to not only relieve headaches but even prevent them from occurring.

Enough talk–let’s take action. For the next two weeks, keep track of facts about your headaches–when you get them, what you’ve been eating or drinking, hormones, the weather, any condition that is different from the norm–in a headache diary. This journal can be a helpful tool to “connect the dots” among seemingly unrelated clues to arrive at some real solutions based on your headache patterns.

Globalist Military Bio Chemical Warfare/chemiluminescent skies in “Sicktoria”, BC, Canada causing severe headaches, eye, ear, nose, throat respiratory, cardiovascular, central nervous system, digestive system disorders … gasping for breath with blocked/runny nose, ears and eyes itching/burning/leaking, extremely sore throat – spots on uvula and skin on back of throat, headache – frontal lobe, intra cranial pressure, dizziness/vertigo, burning feeling in head/neck lungs… this is a little different from the last aerosolised chemical/biological mix which chokes us with a gooey/gluey polymer substance which is next to impossible to get out of the lungs (not surprisingly pneumonia symptoms are common with that mix). My health/voice is fried from the aerosolised biochemical cocktails (served up daily by our ‘defense’ department) I film & document to show people the health symptoms/to raise the alarm. I’m a good barometer; my resistance is down because I’ve been targeted/fighting for my life in the BC health’care’ public system these past 13 years in an effort to expose the government, judiciary, ‘regulatory’ & executive perpetrated medical – ‘legal’ – ‘insurance’ fraud & racketeering.
